Latest Instagram update: Post multiple photos and videos as non-squares

Instagram has just got a major update which lets users share posts with multiple photos and videos in landscape or portrait mode.

One of the biggest platforms for image and video sharing, Instagram has always had this annoying glitch which forces users to make all the photos squares whenever they wanted to upload multiple media items.

The developers of the app have, apparently, finally begun to realize this glitch as well and with the latest Instagram update, you can share media items in both portrait and landscape modes.

This is rather weird and no matter how much the developers try to convince us, it still needs improvement. As Instagram tries to explain, the option to choose gives users more “creative flexibility” but unfortunately, “to keep the experience smooth and consistent… all photos and videos in your post must be shared in the same format.”

That being said, it is good to see that Instagram has finally realized its mettle and is not trying to be the Snapchat clone it always has tried to be. This is, without any doubts, one of the better updates that have rolled out in the recent past. Good job, Instagram.
