Aston Martin Vantage

While Aston Martin prepares to unveil a hypercar Aston Martin Valkyrie to take on other giants of the sort, it hasn’t forgotten to continue its legacy that boasts of a perfect blend of luxury and performance. The result – Aston Martin Vantage, it is time to retire 2005 Vantage series and take a hint from the Spectre movie – James Bond’s 24th adventure in 2015’s special custom made DB10, only 10 of which were made.

So how good is it? Let us look at some numbers :

  • 0-60 in 3.6 seconds.
  • Top speed – 195 mph.
  • Power: 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 503 hp / 513 lb-ft
  • Price –  $149,995
  • Perfect 50:50, front to rear weight distribution.
  • 8-speed gearbox

Chasis is a bonded aluminium structure and the suspension stocks a multi-link setup, ditching the double wishbones in the rear while retaining them in the front. The wheels are 20 inches with 400mm steel discs. Resplendent hand stitched soft leather covers the interior and the seat offers a comfortable housing for the comparatively higher square steering wheel – much like DB11. Aston’s “Q” specialization shop can customize your car to your specifications.

Coming to the perfect weight balance, with the lightweight metal alloys (a lot of Alcantara and carbon fibre) used in its construction the car weighs only 3,300 pounds. The exterior exudes a rare muscular exuberance, sculpted sides with a dash of aggressiveness. The car sports a two-pipe dual exhaust system as standard with an option to stock in four. The horizontal headlamps are reminiscent of the custom Bond movie’s DB10 and are here to entice.

The car hasn’t held back on luxury – The Vantage will also get an 8-inch LCD screen running a Mercedes-Benz-sourced infotainment system. “I’m enormously excited by what we’ve created: a new Vantage that’s more explicit in looks and intent, wrapping heart-pounding performance and dazzling dynamics into an everyday usable package,” Aston Martin CEO, Andy Palmer reiterates. We’ll get to know in a few months to come.
