HONOR just launched something the smartphone world has never seen before — a phone where the camera physically rotates, tracks your subject, and even does a backflip to celebrate a great shot. The HONOR Robot Phone launched in China on August 12, 2026, and it may be the most genuinely different smartphone in years.
What Makes It a “Robot Phone”?
The main camera sits on a motorised titanium alloy arm that can rotate a full 360°. When you are not using it, the arm retracts completely flush with the body. When you are filming, it moves — tracking subjects in real time, adjusting angle, and even performing smooth cinematic spins called SpinShot (90° and 180° rotations for those dramatic reveal shots you see in music videos and vlogs).

The ARRI Partnership
HONOR partnered with ARRI — the company that makes the cameras used to film Hollywood movies — to bring cinema-grade colour science to this phone. That means:
