Google’s Project-Tango is still in its early days and there are not many smartphones manufacturers which can proudly boast of having a Tango-enabled device on their roster. There is, however, a valid reason behind this scenario.

The technology appears to be half-baked as of now and the lack of interest the buyers had in the likes of smartphones like the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has let the big guns wait for a while.

The device will be unveiled at the company’s scheduled press conference in Delhi at 2 pm, July 13.

The event will be broadcast live on Youtube on Asus’ official channel. The device is going to be sold exclusively via Flipkart starting from July 14 (as reported) after the live event.

Asus Zenfone AR SpecificationsAs said earlier, the Asus Zenfone AR is Tango-enabled and Daydream-ready. On the hardware front, the Asus Zenfone AR comes with a 5.70-inch touchscreen display which gives out a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels.

The Asus ZenFone AR is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset coupled by 8 GB of RAM. As far as cameras are concerned, the Asus Zenfone AR packs in a 23-megapixel primary camera at the back and an 8-megapixel camera for selfies. There is a 3,300 mAh battery with Quick charge support.

Coming to the software, the Asus Zenfone AR runs on Android 7.0 which will definitely see future upgrades as well. The device uses a TriCam system which comprises of three cameras: a 23-megapixel main camera, a motion-tracking camera, and a depth-sensing camera. There is a five-magnet speaker installed in accordance with a high-resolution audio system to provide the user with a more immersive experience.

Though there is absolutely nothing Asus has missed out on the Zenfone AR, we still can not say whether or not it will be a success in India or not.
