Asus smartphones have had their fair share of luck in the smartphones market. Even after coming up with decent specifications, the company has not seen a commendable success as of late. Will the Asus Zenfone 4 bring the company back into the competition?
The main reason behind the smartphone manufacturer’s downfall is sometimes considered to be the more than expected price tag they hang on their smartphones. The Asus Zenfone 4, therefore, is expected to be launched at a more relevant price.
Asus CEO Jerry Shen told a Taiwanese website Digitimes that the first device in the Asus Zenfone 4 lineup is going to be unveiled by the month of July, the subsequent devices in the series will soon follow suit.
The Asus Zenfone 4 was supposedly going to be unveiled much earlier, but the company withdrew the plans for some last minute design overhauls and efficiency upgrades.
Now, the big question is, how good those overhauls and upgrades would turn out to be, considering the Asus smartphones have followed, more or less, the same design language for the past couple of years.

Asus Zenfone 4 specifications
While a major portion of the specifications as far as the first device in the Asus Zenfone 4 lineup is concerned is still unconfirmed, it is almost certain that the first one will sport a 5.5-inch display, which is going to be a Quad HD one.
We can expect a Snapdragon chipset this time in the Asus Zenfone 4, along with 6 to 8 GB of RAM, and at least 64 GB of internal storage.
The battery life in the earlier Zenfone smartphones was also considerably weak when compared to the other smartphones in the world. This time, however, the company is claiming to have worked extensively on improving the battery efficiency a lot.
Therefore, we can expect at least a 3,000 mAh battery unit considering the screen size.
As the first smartphone on the new flagship lineup will be launched in July, it is almost guaranteed that it would be running on the latest iteration of Android Nougat.
Asus Zenfone 4 price
The Zenfone 4 will have a sub-$500 price in Taiwan. Considering the price point also, the speculated specifications turn out to be relevant, maybe one can expect more.
These are still very early days and as soon as any relevant report comes up, we will be informing you for sure.
But one thing is for sure, the Asus Zenfone 4 is going to have a tough competition against the likes of smartphones like the OnePlus 5, the Xiaomi Mi 6, and the Moto Z2 Play. All these devices are pretty capable devices and offer amazing features at a somewhat similar price range.
