Good news for all the WhatsApp users. If you are one of those who always get annoyed when you tap on a shared YouTube URL and it opens up the YouTube app, there might be a new update coming up which would fix this problem.
The new WhatsApp update is reportedly going to house an in-app YouTube support for the YouTube videos which means you no longer have to leave the conversation in order to watch the videos you receive in a chat.
The rumor has come up from one of the most trusted websites which have a reputation of providing the most legit news about WhatsApp betas.
This used to be a pretty annoying scenario as the users had to switch back and forth between the YouTube app and WhatsApp. If reports are to be believed, the developers are trying to solve this as it is reportedly testing this new feature.
As seen in the image above, if you tap on a video link that you have received, the YouTube video will open in a pop up just above the chat screen in a small window. You can further expand the video to full screen or hide it for the time being should you want to continue with the conversation. The video playback would stay in memory as long as the particular WhatsApp conversation is going on.
WhatsApp latest update: Supported platforms
The rumor has come from WABetaInfo, which claims that the new update is being tested for iOS devices as of now. But, if the rumor comes out to be true, it won’t be long before Android devices get this update too.
