HMD Global is set to bring back the old Nokia-Zeiss combo to the world. It is confirmed that they have partnered with Zeiss last month and Nokia 8 will be the first smartphone to be having the Zeiss branding.
Eminent Mobile reporter Evan Blass, in his various tweets, has posted some leaked images of the Nokia 8 which appears to be quite genuine.
Nokia 8 Specifications
The Nokia 8 is expected to feature a 5.3-inch display which gives out a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, dual sim support, a front facing fingerprint scanner, 13MP + 13MP dual-cameras on the back, a 3,900 mAh battery, and an 8MP front camera.
The device would be running a pure version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The design of the Nokia 8 is somewhat similar to the earlier launched Nokia devices and Nokia seems to be sticking to the larger bezels which can be a deal maker/breaker for the upcoming smartphone considering the big guns it potentially has to compete with.
The Nokia brand effect could easily be seen for the previous iterations of the new Nokia smartphones which saw considerably modest sales across the world even after having some sub-standard specifications. Nokia can repeat the same magic with the Nokia 8, maybe more, considering the specifications it has in store for us. That being said, the price point Nokia decides to launch this smartphone at might be a huge factor for its success.
