Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy On Max in India which is going to be sold via Flipkart. The device falls under the mid-range segment as far as the price is concerned. The specifications of the On Max, however, are way above mid-range.
It can give a serious competition to the price segment Samsung has put it into.
The device would go on sale on July 10 (23:59 Hrs) exclusively on Flipkart.
Flipkart teased a trailer yesterday which pretty much gave everyone an idea as to what we might get out of the box in the Samsung Galaxy On Max.
Samsung is evidently focusing on highlighting the capable cameras on both the ends of the device. There is a flash for both the cameras and they offer a lot of features which we’ll discuss more in detail in the subsequent part of the article.
On the display front, the On Max has a 5.70-inch Full HD Display which gives a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels.
The device is powered by a 1.69GHz octa-core MediaTek MTK P25 Lite processor which is a bit of a bummer. Samsung could have opted for a Snapdragon chipset here. That said, the MediaTek unit would handle almost every task thrown at it with ease.
With 4 GB of RAM onboard, multitasking is not going to be an issue out here. The device will be able to handle most apps without any hiccups whatsoever.
There is a 3,300 mAh battery which is pretty good considering the screen is just a Full HD Display unit. The device can easily last a day with a fair amount of usage.
Samsung Galaxy On Max Design
The design of the phone is one of its key selling points. The smartphone features an all-metal unibody display which looks beautiful.
The fingerprint scanner is at the front which also acts as the home key. There are two capacitive buttons on either side of the scanner. The power button is on the right side whereas the volume rockers are on the left side. There is a support for a 3.5 mm headphone jack which stays with the standard USB port at the bottom.
Unlike a lot of Samsung phones which are launched lately, the camera on the Samsung Galaxy On Max does not protrude out which is a welcome feature. Samsung has still managed to annoy us with big bezels which is kind of shocking after the success the Galaxy S8 design language has seen as of late. Samsung should try to lessen the bezels of its other smartphones as well. We are not expecting an infinity display in a mid-range device like the On Max, but an effort won’t have hurt us either.
Samsung Galaxy On Max camera
The camera is one thing which Samsung is focusing a lot for this smartphone. The 13MP camera units on both sides of the device have a flash support. This means taking selfies in low light conditions would yield some good results.
Adding to the camera features, Samsung has incorporated a Social Camera Mode in the Galaxy On Max which lets you edit and share your photos instantly.
If you are a fan of sharing your images and videos on social media, the Galaxy On Max might turn out to be the perfect choice of a smartphone for you.
Samsung Pay Mini support for the Samsung Galaxy On Max
The On Max has support for the Samsung Pay Mini online payment system which lets you make payments with a simple touch. This feature, however, is still in early days but knowing the fact that the device supports it is a good feeling to have if you have decided to buy the Samsung Galaxy On Max.
